Growing up in Alaska,Tammie Johnson was no stranger to cafe-culture and how important it is to have a warm place for the community. In 1992 she moved across the country to raise her family and made her new home in Oklahoma. In 2007 she opened the area's first specialty coffee shop and dared to bring a new kind of place to gather for the community in the town of Poteau. For the past 16 years The Coffee Cup has been that place for friends to meet for coffee or lunch, for live music, birthday parties, and even weddings. In that time she has partnered with multiple roasting companies from far away, relying on them, to bring the best possible coffee to her customers and community.  Now, as a founder of Good Day Coffee, she will embark on a new first: roasting specialty coffee locally, in Poteau.

Ryan Redden was born in Talihina OK, and grew up in the River Valley.  At age 15 his very first job was in coffee, behind the counter pouring out cups of “joe” at a local cafe. He has since held every position behind the counter, from busboy to owner-operator of his small roasting company, all the way up to Director of Operations for national brands while in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and in The Pacific Northwest. In 2014, gaining acclaim as Top 5 US coffee maker in the documentary film Barista, he competed to be the best in the world at making coffee. With more than 20 years in the specialty coffee industry, combined with high end bar and restaurant operations, Ryan has a complete understanding of large business operations. Ryan’s professional and personal experiences have taken him all over the world. Consulting eventually brought him back home to Oklahoma doing what he loves: Coffee. At Good Day, his primary concern is good coffee and good people.
